Maggie Barry – Are you surprised that only 10 % of those surveyed last night thought they were at risk from catching AIDS?

Bill Logan – AIDS is fairly new.. isn’t widely spread.. everyone in New Zealand is at risk.. it’s not a question of who you are, but what activities you do.. we’ve been extremely successful in educating the gay community.. surveys.. the problem is those people who don’t admit to being gay..

Logan – a lot more money needs to be spent in this area.. support groups are being stepped up.. the crucial thing is not the core of the gay community.. we’re worried that people will start to relax.. it’s important to develop gay pride in order to fight this virus

Logan – homophobia has focussed around AIDS.. and is being used by people who don’t like gay people..

Logan – one can’t be optimistic .. fight for behavioural changes.. fight to confine it .. stop spreading to the wider community..
