The company, established in 1977, is the publisher of Out! magazine, which superseded New Zealand Gay News. Out was mostly edited by Brett Sheppard and was published by Tony Katavich. The file includes press releases, circulars, copies of the agreement with Gay Publishing Collective to purchase New Zealand Gay News, and other material. Much of the material is ephemeral. The company records are held by the publisher.

Formed in 1977 in Palmerston North as a social club for gay people in Manawatu. The file includes the constitution and rules and a partial set of newsletters, ephemera and a library list. The Association was also known as MAGRA and later became MALGRA (Manawatu Lesbian and Gay Rights Association). Most of the papers are held by MALGRA in Palmerston North.

Formed in 1978 as a social club for lesbians and gay men in Wellington. The file includes the Rules, leaflets and circulars to members, Reports and minutes of meetings etc, derived from donations from various members of the Club, including Phil Parkinson, David Hindley and Gavin Young. A separate group of papers was deposited by a former Secretary, Daniel Fielding. The financial papers are said to be in private hands, although an agreement had been made by the trustees to transfer them to LAGANZ in the early 1990s when the club was dissolved.

The group was formed on 16 July 1972, at first under the name Gay Liberation Front, Wellington. This successively split and remerged with the University Branch (later Gay Liberation VUW) in 1978. The group continued until 1980 then went into recess and never revived. It was also known as Wellington Gay Liberation. Groups established from it include Gay Aid. The archives include constitutions, membership lists, a MS history by Barry Neels, Minutes and other administrative papers, correspondence, press releases, circulars and files on special projects, such as candidate surveys.

Formed in 1977 as the National Cay Rights Coalition Resource Centre, the Centre became independent in 1981. It later became the Lesbian and Gay Archives of New Zealand in 1995.

Formed in late 1984 to help passage of the projected Homosexual Law Reform Bill of Fran Wilde, the Task Force remained active after that, but the archives cover its activities up to August 1986. It survived as a shell after that. It was also known as the Wellington Gay Task Force.
